A MAN screamed “I’m an Irish Gypsy” and “I’m a real man” as he threatened to “knock out” Brighton’s Disco Bunny in a bizarre rant caught on video.

The crazed man can be seen shouting “I’ll knock you sideways” in a six-minute meltdown which sees him brand the Disco Bunny a “nonce” and another bystander a “Romanian mongrel”.

The Disco Bunny is the glittery persona of street performer Pablo Woodward, who says his aim is to “infest others with a lust for life”.

He made his name in Brighton by charming residents with heartfelt ballads and enthusiastic dancing.

But this week Mr Woodward was confronted by an angry man while he was dancing in the street.

The man became aggressive and branded the Disco Bunny a “batty man” - a derogatory term for a homosexual.

And he threatened to knock out some bystanders from a large crowd who tried to intervene.

The crowd included children in school uniform.

The man claimed he was related to bare-knuckle gypsy fighter and former Celebrity Big Brother winner Paddy Doherty, who first found fame on the TV show Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

The man ranted at Disco Bunny: “I’m an Irish Gypsy, man. I’m related to Paddy Doherty. I don’t give a f**k about no one. You get me? Yeah?

“F**k you. F**k your family. And f**k everyone.”

The Disco Bunny replies: “Would you like a song? What song would you like?

“I’m the Disco Bunny and I’m trying to make people smile.”

To which the man replies: “No, f**k your mother, that’s the song I want.”

The incident happened on Monday at about 5.45pm in Nottingham.

The man slams his coat and jumper on the floor during the tirade, revealing part of his bottom.

When the Disco Bunny tries to give him the clothes back, the man says: "Touch my clothes and I'll knock you out."

He then tells the crowd, made up of concerned passers-by and schoolchildren filming on their phones: “ I’m a real man. I’m a real man”.

Addressing Mr Woodward, he said: “I’m a Gypsy, I don’t give a f**k.

“Who do you like? Girls or boys?

“You are a dirty nonce, mate.”

Mr Woodward thanked him for his opinion.

When another man tries to intervene on behalf of Mr Woodward, the man says to him: “Come near me mate and I’ll knock you sideways.

“Get your hands off me. Touch me again and I’ll knock you out.”

He then calls a woman a “Romanian mongrel” before the video cuts out.

Speaking about the incident, he said: “I have no issues with people expressing their opinion, but that level of hatred and threatening behaviour has an impact.”

The Disco Bunny first achieved internet stardom when a video of him dancing with an elderly woman on Brighton’s North Street was watched by more than 70 million people on Facebook.
