THIS was the moment a bus burst into flames this morning.
The stagecoach bus caught fire in Polegate High Street.
Firefighters battled the blaze in front of stunned onlookers.
The railway level crossing remained closed while the fire was brought under control.
An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have attended a bus fire in Polegate.
"We were called at 07.06 on March 14 to reports of a vehicle fire on the High Street by the Polegate train station.
"Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one main jet.
"There are no reports of injuries.
"The cause is believed to be accidental.
"We left the scene around 07.50."
