Emergency services are searching for a man in water at Brighton Marina.
Sussex Police, Secamb, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, the HM Coastguard, Newhaven Coastguard RNLI and Brighton and Coastguard Helicopter were called at about 00.46am today.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "We were notified of a person in the water at Victory Mews in Brighton Marina.
"Officers attended but there was no sign of someone who could be rescued.
"We are working with Coastguard and the fire service to continue to search for the person.
"There is no further information at this stage."
A spokeswoman for the Brighton Lifeboat Rescue said: "We were launched at 1.20am to help with the search of a missing male in the heart of Brighton Marina.
"We assisted Secamb, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, Sussex Police and Newhaven and Shoreham Coastguards with the search.
"Nothing was found and we were stood down at 4am. Sussex Police are, however, still at the scene."
