BIRD watchers descended on Seaford yesterday amid sightings of a rare species.
Twitchers travelled from far and wide to reports of a rose-coloured starling in the area around Sutton Drove.
One said: "It's a juvenile so it stands out really easily when you see it because it's very pale.
"It''s been feeding on bird feeders. It was last see at about 11.30am.
"We think it will be easier to spot early in the morning."
Although rare, rose-coloured starlings have been spotted in Seaford before.
Bird watcher Matt Eade shared pictures of another juvenile specimen in the town on his blog as recently as December 30.
The species hit the headlines in October when a Norwich man's living room was besieged with birdwatchers trying to catch glimpse of a rarely-seen bird.
The BBC reported that Stephen Leake first saw the rose-coloured starling in his back garden on 7 October.
He reported the sighting to bird groups online and logged his postcode, thinking it was for recording purposes.
Mr Leake has since had more than 150 people visit his home, including some who had travelled from north England.
The rose-coloured starling normally migrates from eastern Europe to tropical Asia, where it spends the winter.
