A TV personality has told how his faithful dog helps him through his struggles with depression and anxiety.
Stephen Kish, 29, lives in Hangleton and has a dog-walking business as well as appearing on CBBC children’s TV programme Officially Amazing.
He has always been a dog lover, despite not having one while growing up, and always used to enjoy walking his neighbour’s dog after school.
He is now a professional dog walker and has his own dog-walking business, Tails Of Love Pet Care.
He was thrilled when he became the owner of golden labrador Molly, nine, when she was 18 months old.
He said: “I have such an amazing bond with Molly, who is always by my side.
“She always tries to please and really enjoys seeing others enjoying themselves.
“I suffer from depression and anxiety, but Molly helps me when I need it the most and has even helped me make new friends.
“Being able to see her simply wag her tail makes me smile and be happy.
“When I have a moment of severe illness, many scenarios rush through my mind.
“However, when I start to think about Molly and what would happen to her if I wasn’t around, I begin to think more logically and rationally about things.”
Stephen plays Sizzlin’ Steve on the TV show, which is about Guinness World Records, representing Team UK as he battles against the USA and Japan to see who is the best at breaking records.
He has broken more than 70 Guinness World Records, including “most toots of a party blower in 30 seconds” and “fastest time to deposit 20 coins into a piggy bank while blindfolded”.
Molly, who is an official ambassador for Eukanuba dog food, is also a record holder for most items caught by a dog in 30 seconds.
