FATBOY Slim rocked the i360 – quite literally – tonight.
The internationally-renowned DJ performed for almost two hours on the Brighton seafront attraction to 120 lucky fans who snapped up the tickets within minutes of them going on sale on Thursday.
Those revellers, swarmed around the artist, partied so hard the pod started swaying, forcing staff to get some people to move to the other side the balance could be restored.
Adopted Brightonian Fatboy’s gig was broadcast to thousands around the world by French streaming platform Cercle.
Fatboy, 54, real name Norman Cook, admitted last week that he “would have been sad” not to get the i360 slot in the place he calls his “home town” after lengthy talks with its bosses.
And he certainly looked like he enjoyed himself, taking the time for selfies with adoring fans before lifting the crowd with his tunes.
As the pod reached the summit, Fatboy held up a record case inscribed “my favourite sunset in the whole world”, while the sun glistened across the seafront.
Philippe Tuchmann, who manages artists for Cercle, said: “I try to tell a story between the place and the artist.
"I think Fatboy Slim was the artist that made the most sense here. He has a history here and he is like a legend.
“We love the i360 and what we like is an unusual venue where they have not done concerts before.”
Fatboy, originally from Bromley, Kent, said he tries to do one Brighton or Sussex-based gig a year.
In 2002 he held a free gig on Brighton seafront which some 250,000 people attended.
Christopher Booth was on the i360 with his girlfriend.
The 44-year-old, from Eastbourne, is a huge Fatboy fan and has followed him his entire career – and even jockeyed with him.
He said: “When I went to a VIP night at the Arches on Brighton seafront one night he was performing and he said I could DJ with him.
“As a DJ, everything he does is good. He gets the crowd going and every mix is different.
"We were lucky to get the tickets – it is a special gig.”
