FRIENDS Joel and Mark established Brighton Dive Centre (BDC) in September 2005 to fill what they had identified as a gap in the market.
Situated in the heart of the buzzing Brighton Marina Village, BDC caters for all levels of recreational diving and provides a one-stop shop for tuition, services, equipment and general advice.
Now, over 2 years down the line, the guys are turning their passion into very professional and thriving outfit.
Speaking about the business Joel said: “The Sussex coast boasts hundreds of great dive sites including reefs, wrecks and even Brighton Pier. Our range of instructors and dive masters means that we have collective experience of diving and teaching all over the world. As well as recreational diving we specialise in areas including Nitrox, deep diving, photography, specialist equipment and many other areas.
Our shop manager Terry, for example, has a wealth of diving experience spanning over 25 years. He’s dived all over the world and has a special personal interest in supporting marine ecology.” At BDC you can learn to dive or snorkel and escort dives are available for local sites, both from the beach and boat.
Drift dives are also a feature of the area.
The company is also very happy to accommodate and support individuals with learning and physical difficulties.
If you have always wanted to try scuba diving but have never got round to it, or had the chance then why not join in a pool session and see how you get on, or simply have a chat with one of the friendly resident experts who will be able to give you details on the courses, equipment and services that are on offer.
Brighton Dive Centre caters for every level, from beginners and novices to the qualified professional.
There is a course for everyone and they are open seven days a week.
HOLIDAYS BDC also offer some of the finest diving holidays available. They regularly plan trips to Stoney Cove in Leicestershire, Horsea Island in Hampshire, Wraysbury near Heathrow and Cornwall, where the beautiful basking sharks are the main attraction.
Malta Crystal clear waters, dive in the caverns and caves round Malta, Comino and Gozo. There are wrecks just off the shore and it is available all year round.
Roses in Spain This is on the east coast of Spain, with the largest marina in Europe.
It’s only an hour’s flight from Gatwick and makes for a fantastic long weekend. The paella is to die for!
