AN EX-FOOTBALL coach committed suicide months after losing his job, an inquest heard.
Former Crawley Town manager Dermot Drummy was suffering from low moods, and was receiving counselling after he was sacked as Reds boss in May last year.
Mr Drummy, 56, was found dead near the A414 in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, on November 27 after his wife reported him missing, something said to be “out of character”.
Police searched for Mr Drummy and his body was found in woodland, the BBC reported.
He had left a note for family saying “I hope you forgive me”.
Assistant coroner for Hertfordshire Edward Solomons recorded Mr Drummy’s death as suicide.
On the day Mr Drummy died, his son, Joe, tweeted: “I bloody loved that guy and couldn’t have been more proud of his achievements in all aspects of life.
“Best dad I could have asked for.”
