A MAN suffered a cardiac arrest and died outside a popular dessert restaurant.
The pedestrian, in his fifties, was reported to have breathing difficulties outside Creams in Western Road, Brighton, yesterday afternoon.
Paramedics performed CPR on the man, but he could not be revived.
A South East Coast Ambulance spokesman said: "We responded with two cars and two ambulances to Western Road, Brighton, yesterday at 3.49pm to a man reported with breathing difficulties.
"Despite the efforts of the crews the man had suffered a cardiac arrest and sadly died."
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "At about 4pm on Wednesday, police received a report of a medical episode outside Creams in Western Road, Brighton.
"Paramedics attended and commenced CPR on the man, in his fifties, however he was sadly pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer has been informed."
A manager at Creams, who would not give her name, said she had spoken to staff working yesterday, but was waiting to speak to police.
She did not want to comment further.
