THE SOUTH coast was blanketed in a sheet of snow last night as temperatures showed no signs of rising.
Even Brighton and Hove got in on the action, with residents waking up to a smattering of white across the city.
Snow had fallen around 4am, with most of the snow having melted in the city centre by early morning.
But another snow flurry at around 7.20am sparked hope that it could return during the day.
Meanwhile, towns across East Sussex - including Crowborough - experienced much thicker snow.
The forecast today predicts snow showers and temperatures from 0 to 4 degrees celsius, however tonight is likely to be much colder at -5 degrees.
