TWO teenagers were arrested after a number of reported shootings – including one on a 12-year-old boy.
The youngster was reported to have been shot with a BB gun in North Road, Lancing, at 6.40pm on Friday.
He was left shaken by his ordeal and needed treatment from paramedics for a superficial neck injury but not seriously hurt.
Further reports were made to Sussex Police about shots being fired at three separate addresses in the town which caused damage however no further injuries have been reported.
The National Police Air Service helicopter was scrambled to the area to hunt for the suspects.
Officers on the ground carried out extensive searches of the area.
Two youths were arrested.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “We would like to thank the public for their support and reassure them that the matter has come to a conclusion.”
A 17-year-old boy from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and three counts of criminal damage.
He remains in police custody at this stage.
A 15-year-old boy from Lancing was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
He also remains in police custody.
