AN estate agency is working with a foodbank to offer support to people and families in the run up to Christmas.
Newberry Tully Estate Agents, in Church Street, Seaford, has become a collection point for Seahaven Storehouse which gives food parcels to people who find themselves in tough financial situations.
The foodbank is based at Seaford Community Church, in Vale Road.
Stephen Newberry, who has been an estate agent in the town since 1987, said: “We became aware of the rising numbers of people needing support from foodbanks to simply get by.
“We were then made aware of the fantastic work the volunteers at the Seahaven Storehouse do and we were very keen to offer our support.
“We will be accepting donations at our office throughout November and December and publicising the work Seahaven Storehouse does as much as we can.”
Andrew Tully said: “Seahaven Storehouse is a small charity run by local people for local people and from what we have seen it really is making a big, positive difference to many members of our community.”
The storehouse’s founder Dawn Woodgate said: “We have provided food parcels for people in crisis across Seaford, Newhaven and Peacehaven for four years.”
