A MAJOR Sussex road has reopened this morning after miles of its carriageway was resurfaced following a diesel spillage.
The A24 was closed just after midnight on Monday following the accident where a refrigeration trailer became detached from an articulated lorry crashing into the central reservation near Dial Post.
It left a mile and a half of fuel on the road's surface.
Highways engineers worked through the night to have the road, between the A272 Buckbarn crossroads and the A283 at The Pike, reopened for this morning's rush hour.
A24 REOPENED in both directions following yesterday's accident. Works completed, resurfacing 3000 square metres of carriageway
