HALLOWEEN lovers will certainly get a treat when they visit this haunted house.

You can’t miss the property in Highcroft Villas, Brighton – it is coated in giant cobwebs and has skeletons popping out of the ground.

Owner Ollie Slim is Halloween mad and he and husband Ollie Blackaby have been dressing their house up for the past eight years, attracting hundreds of visitors.

He said: “We do it every year for the kids because our house is in between two schools.

“It started out small and has just got bigger and bigger each year.

“The idea started when we first moved here ten years ago. We’d have pumpkins carved on Halloween and kids would say our house looks really creepy, so we started putting more things in the windows and each year it grew.”

Last year the couple had so many trick or treaters the street was blocked and police turned up to ease congestion.

“We had about 700 trick or treaters all together,” Ollie said. “The police were good about it.”

Ollie, 41, draws inspiration for his Halloween themes from his work trips. He is a cabin crew member with Thomas Cook and has been in America during the celebrations.

The couple have had many themes over the years, including Alcatraz. This year’s is based around Tim Burton movies.

The haunting decorations are not just for the trick or treaters, however.

Ollie chooses a charity each year to raise funds for by putting pots out for mothers and fathers to drop change in when taking their children out.

This year, the charity is Macmillan Cancer Support, and the two Ollies have exceeded their target of £1,000 online.

The house is divided into flats and Ollie said neighbours get involved and enjoy the decorating.

He said: “Some of our neighbours decorate the back of the house. They love it too.”

They celebrate Pride in style, too, hanging giant rainbow flags across the house, and also deck the halls at Christmas.
