A GROUP of 16 youngsters from 1st Plumpton Scouts earned their craft badges in style this Halloween by carving spooky pumpkins to go on display at Sea Life Brighton.

The Scouts, led by aquarium manager Max Leviston, spent many hours designing, carving and decorating their own festive pumpkin to secure the badge.

The creations have been showcased at Sea Life Brighton, as part of its Fear Forest installation this Halloween, with a select few even making it into the creatures’ tanks!

Max said: “It was great to give the 1st Plumpton Scouts this unique opportunity to show off their hard work.

“It has been a lot of fun from start to finish and seeing the pride on the boys’ faces when they saw their handiwork displayed at Sea Life Brighton was the cherry on the cake.

“Our rainforest zone has become the ‘fear forest’ for Halloween, with everything from creepy creatures to face painting and the chance to come face to face with an anaconda – so these pumpkins were the perfect decoration.

“To offer the scouts a visit to Sea Life Brighton as a reward on top of their badge was brilliant.

“I hope they had a spook-tacular time.”
