DETECTIVES hunting three suspects in connection with a racist attack on a South Korean student have made two arrests.

Shocking footage of the bottling of Yehsung Kim in North Street, Brighton, on Sunday night has been shared thousands of times online.

The 20-year-old had been with friends on the way home from a South Korean society meeting.

Mr Kim said he was approached by a group of three or four boys and two girls before one of them launched a bottle at him.

The University of Sussex student, who spoke exclusively to The Argus following the incident, said: “I was suddenly hit by a wine bottle out of nowhere after I saw the group of British people arguing with a Japanese man.

“The first thing one of them said to me after I asked ‘why did you throw that at me?’ was ‘because you are ******* Asian’.

“The girls were encouraging the boys to fight with me.

“People around us were saying let’s watch them fight and were making a joke out of it.

“I was then hit again by a bottle that struck my face and smashed one of my teeth, leaving another eight or nine of them loose and shaking.

“I was very annoyed."

The first suspect who was armed with the bottle is a white teenage boy, of slim build with brown hair with a side parting and was wearing blue top, dark coat, grey trousers and dark shoes.

The second suspect was a white teenage boy, of slim build, with dark cropped hair and was wearing a grey short sleeved top with collar and buttons (possibly a polo shirt), dark trousers and dark shoes.

The third suspect is a white teenage girl, of slim build with long dark hair and was wearing a dark jacket and trousers and light coloured shoes.

Sussex Police said today two arrest had been made this morning.

A 17-year-old boy from Burgess Hill, arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment with fear of violence, and a 16-year-old boy from Haywards Heath, arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent, are currently in police custody and will be interviewed in due course.
