FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze in a boat storage unit on Brighton beach.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Madeira Drive, near the Peter Pan Playground, just before 4pm today.
It was initially thought that a beach hut was alight but the fire service has now confirmed it was a boat store.
The fire service received five 999 calls about the incident.
One fire engine was sent from Roedean, two breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used to put out the fire.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
