A MAN is reported to have pulled an machete during a fight between two men.
Sussex Police received reports of a man wielding an machete in London Road, Brighton, near the A270 Viaduct Road junction.
It followed a fight had broken out between two groups of men at 5.45pm on Tuesday.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: "A man of Asian appearance, wearing white trousers and a black top, was in possession of an axe and glass bottles were being thrown, before the two groups got into separate cars believed to be a black BMW and a Ford Focus."
Detective Inspector Simon Morgan, of Sussex Police, said: “These two groups of men were involved in a serious altercation on a busy road during rush hour.
“We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any video footage of it.”
Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1178 of September 19.
- Sussex Police originally believed the item was an axe. However on studying CCTV, officers now believe the weapon was a machete.
