A TAXI driver was racially abused and threatened with a knife while working.

The driver, a 33-year-old man from Lancing, was sat in his taxi in Station Road, Billingshurst in the early hours of Sunday when the suspect banged on his window.

The driver opened the door, prompting the suspect to begin abusing him before walking off.

He was "extremely shaken up" but unhurt.
