THE VICTIM of a stabbing desperately tried to drive towards help in the minutes before his death, it has emerged.
Salvis Auzins has been named by Sussex Police as the victim from an incident in Clyde Road, St Leonards, on Thursday afternoon.
Police said his family, who live in Latvia, have been left devastated by the news.
Officers were called to stabbing in Clyde Road at 12.41pm and minutes later received a second call of an injured man in an alleyway in Wishing Tree Road two miles away. Mr Auzins had driven there from Clyde Road but despite the best efforts of police and paramedics he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Heater, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “We have spoken to the parents of Salvis in Latvia and they are devastated at the loss of their son.
“We are appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the stabbing or have information about this tragic incident. Please get in touch with us.”
