A BUDGET supermarket is set to move into new premises as part of a £70m shopping centre redevelopment.
Lidl will move from its current home in Burgess Hill town centre to a new store on the current site of the Leylands Road gasometer.
The gasometer will be demolished as part of the development.
Mid Sussex District Council announced it had signed an agreement of lease with New River Retail for the town centre redevelopment project.
A council spokesman said: "All planning conditions have now been discharged on the site and work is due to commence this summer with Lidl due to relocate in February 2019.
"New River Retail is, subject to planning condition charges, expected to start work on the Martlets redevelopment in autumn."
