STUDENTS embraced their inner science geek on a visit to a science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) fair.
Seaford Head School students attended The Big Bang Fair South East where they met employers and staff from colleges and universities, giving them insight into a variety of Stem careers.
Among the highlights were designing an aerodynamic model car that they tested in a wind
tunnel and taking part in an exciting chemistry demonstration about gases.
Year 7 students also took the opportunity to showcase project work they have been working on.
Robert Handy, director of Stem at Seaford Head School, explained how The Big Bang Fair has had a huge impact on the students who attended.
He said: “At Seaford Head School, we understand the importance of getting students excited about pursuing a Stem career.
“At this event there are so many opportunities to meet real life engineers and technicians as well as the chance to find out about different courses that students might not be aware of.”
The Big Bang Fair South East is organised by Stem Sussex, the University of Brighton, in partnership with Crawley Borough Council and Central Sussex College, and is sponsored by Gatwick Airport.
