Conservative candidate Nick Herbert has held the seat for the Arundel and South Downs constituency, with 62.4% of the vote, or 37,573 votes.
Labour candidate Caroline Fife followed behind with 22.7% of the vote.
Both her and Mr Herbet have seen an increase in votes for their parties compared with results from the 2015 general election, in which Labour won 11.2% of the vote and Conservatives took 60.8%.
Shweta Kapadia representing the Liberal Democrats took 7.9% of the votes in the West Sussex constituency.
Voter turnout in the rural constituency was higher than it was in the 2015 general elections, with 75.97% of the electorate turning up this year, compared to 73.1% in 2015.
Green candidate Jo Prior won 4.2% of the vote, while UKIP candidate John Wallace won 2.8% of the vote.
Mr Herbert, who is the former Minister of State for Policing and Criminal Justice, has represented the area since 2005.
In his victory speech he thanked fellow candidates for a spirited contest said it had been an honour and a privilege to be the local MP for 12 years.
“I consider it my duty as a member of Parliament for this marvellous constituency to represent everyone and do the very best that I can," he said.
"I will continue to do my level best and work hard for the local community.”
This will be Mr Herbert’s fourth term as MP for the area, which has been Conservative since the 1990’s.
