AN ORIGINAL print piece by famed street artist Banksy will go under the hammer at auction next week.

The artwork, a print of the Grim Reaper, is signed and numbered and goes on sale at an auction at Bellmans antiques and interiors in Wisborough Green on the afternoon of May 10.

Several Banksy-style graffiti works have been spotted in various places around Horsham but now people will be given the chance to procure their own original piece by the artist whose anonymity has been a big part of his fame.

Bellmans are expecting the privately owned piece, created in 2005, to be sold for up to £15,000.

Rachel Morgan, a marketing and advertising representative at Bellmans, said the Banksy piece will be the first one they have ever put up for auction.

She said: “We have had a lot of people showing serious interest in buying this print and it is exciting for us because it is our first one of his to go on sale.

“Potential buyers can view the piece online before bidding at auction.

“Because it is a print rather than a wall piece that has been removed from a building or structure to be sold, the suggested price is very realistic.”
