A YACHT with two passengers on board was rescued last night after almost crashing into Brighton Palace Pier.
The 23ft vessel, with two people on board, was reportedly trapped underneath the pier due to rough conditions.
It was rescued by the Shoreham Lifeboat Station around three hours after being cut-off by the pier after midnight and was brought back to Shoreham. The yacht was heading to Brighton Marina when it became trapped underneath the structure.
Brighton's Palace Pier has confirmed that no damage was sustained after the near miss.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
