NEARLY 30 baby bonnets knitted by volunteers who took part in the Eastbourne Arndale Centre great big knit event have been received by the Conquest Hospital’s children’s services.
Nicola Dean, matron of the hospital’s Kipling ward, Nicola Dean, received the bonnets that were tried out by young patient Sophie Hylands, from Hailsham, who is pictured with her father Richard.
Nicola said: “We’re very grateful for the bonnets as they help to control the temperatures of babies, especially those who are in the special baby care unit.
“Thank you to everyone who took part in the event!”
More than 150 knitters took part in the event when they also yarnbombed a model of Beachy Head Lighthouse, transforming its traditional red and white to a variety of bright colours.
