HOLLYWOOD actress Maisie Williams looked stunning on the red carpet at the Golden Globes Awards in a dress made by a Brighton designer.
The yellow sleeveless gown worn by the Game of Thrones actress proved a fashion hit featuring consistently in the medias' best dressed list.
Brighton-based designer Ong-Oaj Pairam said he was ecstatic the actress had chosen to wear his design. He started making the dress after being contacted by Maisie's stylist in October, but he was not sure if she would pick another dress at the last minute.
The 32-year-old said: "When you are a small designer you can never be sure whether they will wear your dress up until the last minute. I didn't want to get my hopes up as the Golden Globes are quite a big thing.
"So it was a great surprise for the start of the year, especially as I'm relatively new in the fashion world."
Ong-Oaj said he is pleased with the reception his dress has got from the fashion world.
Maisie Williams appeared at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills, California, as cast member of Games of Thrones. The hit television show was nominated for Best Series and Best Supporting Actress.
Maisie's Game of Thrones co-star Natalie Dormer wore one of Ong-Oaj's dresses at the Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 premiere.
Worthing-born actress Gwendoline Christie also appeared at the Golden Globes as a cast member of the hit show.
Now Ong-Oaj is working on more dresses for celebrities looking to stun on the red carpet during awards season. "I can't possibly say which celebrities' stylists I am in contact with, but my dresses could possibly be worn at the BAFTA awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and even The Oscars," he said.
Since graduating from the University of Brighton's Fashion Design BA, Ong-Oaj, from Thailand, has gone on to great things. After working for designers in New York and London, the designer set up his own Label in November 2012.
Ong-Oaj, who has a studio in the North Laine, Brighton, said he feels inspired living in the city.
He added: "Brighton is great because you can get away from the London fashion bubble. There is a great mixture of fashion here, and I feel like I have things to look at all the time, so it helps me with my creativity."
