MOST young football fans try and imitate the skills of their favourite football players.

But six-year-old Josh Wright has gone a little further and matched the distinctive facial hair and bald head of his favourite Albion star Bruno.

Baby Bruno has been getting as much attention off the pitch as any Seagulls’ player this season with his distinctive new look.

But The Argus can reveal he has a shocking secret – he is a Spurs fan.

Father Nick Wright first took little Josh and his older brother Ollie to Albion matches last season to give them a taste of live football in a family friendly environment.

Mr Wright, from Petworth, said: “We are actually Tottenham fans but last season I took the boys to a couple of Albion games so they could see football in the lower leagues.

“Brighton is a nice friendly club, we hear almost no bad language, it’s got a nice stadium, and so I started taking the boys.

"This year I decided to get them season tickets and for the Forest game, because Josh likes Bruno so much, we thought it would be funny to give him a big beard wig.

“He got so much attention so we decided to do the same thing for Rotherham.”

The little imitator, who goes to Graffham Infant School, has gained a huge following from Seagulls’ supporters who have given him a Mini Bruno chant and who cheer him every time he is spotted or leaves his seat.

His father says that his son is loving all the attention.

He said: “Josh just laps up all the attention.

“Bruno stuck out to Josh from day one.

“He says he loves his big beard and his bald head and also that he’s the captain and he’s a good player.”

Despite Josh’s love for Bruno, his Spurs-loving father is not worried that he might switch allegiance to the Seagulls.

He said: “We watch Spurs regularly on TV and I’ve taken the boys on tours of White Hart Lane because I wanted them to see it before it’s demolished.

“I thought about getting tickets for them to the Champions League games this season at Wembley but it is too late whereas we can get back to Petworth from Albion easily and it doesn’t disrupt their sleep patterns too much.

“We have definitely adopted Brighton as our Championship club although I don’t know what we’ll do if they go up to the Premier League.”
