A MAN caught driving while high on cocaine and cannabis and with no licence or insurance has been jailed.
Christopher Hyder was pulled over in Broad Piece, Littlehampton on June 2 after his red Ford Fiesta showed up as having no insurance.
Police noticed a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle and Hyder, of York Road, Littlehampton, tested positive for drugs.
At Worthing Magistrates' Court on Tuesday August 2, he pleaded guilty to driving with 8mcg of cannabis and 56mcg of benzoylecgonine (cocaine) per litre of blood in his system – the legal limits being 2mcg and 50mcg respectively.
The 23-year-old, who is unemployed, was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail, disqualified from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay a £115 victim surcharge.
