Police have arrested four men and a boy suspected of drug dealing at a skate park.

The suspects were spotted by officers at The Level in Brighton and detained nearby after four of them ran off.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and cannabis, possession with intent to supply heroin and cannabis and obstructing a police officer's right to carry out a search. He has been bailed until October 7 for further inquiries.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and obstructing a police officer's right to carry out a search.

A man aged 20 was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine and obstructing a police officer's right to carry out a search.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and a 22-year-old man was detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class-A drug.

The arrests were made last month and the four men have been released on bail until September 2.

Sergeant Andy Newman said: "We had received complaints and concerns from residents and users of the skate park about suspicious behaviour and suspected drug dealing.

"The area is especially busy at this time of the year during the summer school holiday.

"We will continue to target drug dealing in the area and arrest anyone who we suspect to be in possession of drugs or supplying them."
