A MEMBER of the emergency services had their foot run over after going to the aid of a crash.

The member of East Sussex Fire and Rescue staff was passing the scene of a two car accident and stopped to assist.

A silver Vauxhall Agila and a grey Vauxhall Mokka had collided on the B2026 at Duddleswell, when shortly afterwards the fire service officer had their foot run over.

He was not a firefighter or part of the operational team mobilised to the incident but had been speaking to a potential witness to the crash.

But as the witnesses' 4x4 vehicle drove away, they injured the officer by running over his foot.

PC Matt Harman, of Sussex Police, said: "We believe this vehicle was a 4 x 4 and had a trailer attached to the back. We would like to speak to the driver, if this was you or you have any information about this vehicle please get in touch."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Sussex Police on 101 or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 596 of August 4.
