EVENTER Gemma Tattersall has paid tribute to her "little white pony" after Team GB missed out on a medal.

The Horsham-based 31-year-old performed well in the showjumping on Tuesday but the team ended fifth overall after a disastrous cross country day.

Taking to Facebook yesterday, she said: "What a week, this has been a week of huge ups and downs, unfortunately more downs and ups.

"We as a team are all devastated that cross country day just did not go to plan for any of us, the most annoying thing is the horses didn't even go badly there were just stupid mistakes. Without those silly mistakes it would have been a very different story."

Before flying out to Rio, Gemma described her horse Quicklook as one of her best friends in The Argus.

She said yesterday: "Thank you to my little white pony Quicklook. She tried her little heart out in the showjumping.

"We are just so sorry we didn't quite deliver and have not got a medal to come back with.

"We all were so so hungry and it just didn't go to plan.

"I myself will learn from the most incredible experience, take it forward with me and hopefully win some medals for our fabulous country in the future.

"Love my pony and love my team."?
