DELAYS on the A27 were caused by a lorry driver who refused to pass his details to a motorist he had been involved in an accident with.

It took motorists more than an hour to travel between the Shoreham Airport traffic lights and the Lyons Farm retail park on Wednesday lunchtime.

A minor crash between a Renault Megane car and a Dutch-registered articulated lorry was reported to Sussex Police shortly after midday.

Officers were called to the crash at the Lyons Farm traffic lights after the lorry driver initially denied any contact had taken place.

The driver of the Megane told officers the lorry driver had refused to exchange details.

Two hours after the accident, the situation was resolved when the lorry driver handed over his particulars.
