DETECTIVES investigating the disappearance of a 52-year-old mother of three have released CCTV images showing her last known movements.

Fatima Mohamed-Ali, 52, is seen in Denton Corner, Newhaven, on the morning of Friday, February 12.

Police believe she left her home in next-door Park Drive Close that morning, leaving her handbag and other personal items at home.

There was a sighting of her at 8am in nearby Avis Road but she has not been seen since.

In the CCTV she is seen heading in the direction of Newhaven town centre.

Her husband, Mohamed Mohamed-Ali, appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

He said: "My life is on hold while I wait to hear any news.

"She has never missed my birthday and we've been married for 36 years; this is completely out of character for her.

"I would like people to think and see if they can remember seeing her, it's a busy road."

Chief Inspector Rob Leet, district policing commander, said her disappearance was out of character and police were extremely worried.

He added: "This is completely out of character for Fatima."

She is Indian, 5ft 2in, of slim build with shoulder-length black hair worn in a ponytail.

She is likely to be wearing traditional Indian dress under the beige coat.
