THERE was a fox in the box and he was hopelessly stuck.
This critter was outfoxed by a football net when he managed to get himself tangled and trapped.
Dogwalker Ian Neads, who was with his Labrador Jazz, came across the trapped animal yesterday morning on the playing fields at BHASVIC on Old Shoreham Road, Hove.
The young fox was already being tended to by another walker.
The 50-year-old structural engineer said: "I live locally so I went home and got some gloves and cutting tools. He was so entangled there was no way you would have been able to get him out otherwise.
"When we were cutting him free he realised what was going on and stopped trying to bite - laying back and letting us get him free."
After being freed from his ordeal at 7.30am yesterday the fox was left unharmed and scarpered.
