A crackdown on crime and antisocial behaviour has been hailed a success.
Police stopped 38 people suspected of committing offences in central Hove and on the seafront on Friday.
Of those 28 were given on-the-spot fines for offences which included ignoring no-cycling rules on the promenade.
The initiative was part of a high profile day of action between police and other agencies.
Officers mounted rolling road blocks with DVLA inspectors to catch drivers of untaxed vehicles.
Six parked or abandoned cars without tax were towed away and another nine were clamped.
A total of 63 unclaimed bicycles chained to railings and lampposts were also identified and removed.
The operation continued throughout Friday night with anti-social behaviour at Hove Lagoon skatepark being targeted.
Officers also seized booze from a number of people during the crackdown.
Inspector Jane Derrick said: "The day of action was a great success.
"It is something we shall be repeating in other parts of Hove and Portslade in the coming weeks."
