"Life is like a set of keys", Richard Smith has chipped unceremoniously into his plaster.
Some delicate, some brutal, each an exploration of the artist's personal identity, this tablet is one of a few pieces of expression through plaster hanging casually on the wall of the busily functional Housing Advice Reception.
At first glance looking like simple decoration, these pieces of art are touchingly personal, fossilising part of the artists' lives for future generations to observe.
Although the total lack of professionalism is refreshing and builds a far more direct bridge between feeling and artwork than can usually be experienced, the rather small display could have benefited from more desire to push the boundaries of plaster as a creative medium.
