Sometimes the most progressive step an artist can take is one that strips their work down to its barest bones.
Such was the idea at play in this dark, intense and utterly pared-down exhibition.
In a small collection of nine portraits, DarkDaze shuns the glamorising so unavoidable with commercial technology and instead makes a return to the heavily staged but revealing roots of portrait photography.
The effect is striking, the models' expressions conveying a vulnerability and discomfort rarely ever seen within the pages of a fashion magazine.
Although somewhat let down by the uninspiring venue, Call Me is an interesting exploration of the humanist implications of artistic minimalism.
