What a crazy world it is we live in when a young thug who was running away from the police and accidentally bitten by police dog Bruce is awarded £42,500 in damages and costs (The Argus, May 10).
Meanwhile, the senior officer, former assistant chief constable Nigel Yeo, who ordered the needless execution of Bruce, gets a job with the extremely hypocritical RSPCA, which lambasted him at the time.
Now Bruce, who didn't ask to be a police dog, lays at rest in his handler's garden.
Bruce was the only victim of this sad and pointless episode. He was a true pillar of the community - which is more than can be said for the thug or Nigel Yeo.
