Fire crews were called to a blaze at a flat last night.
The first-floor property in Park Crescent, Worthing, suffered smoke and fire damage but nobody was injured.
A flat on the second floor also suffered minor damage.
Residents were evacuated as two fire crews from Worthing tackled the blaze just after 7pm.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
