It appears Brighton and Hove City Council is not really very enthused by recycling.
On leaving our house on Saturday morning, we found our street strewn with dozens of polling cards from last week's council election.
Among the items we gathered up was a copy of the "Handbook for polling station staff".
This Electoral Commission publication is a ripping read - we particularly enjoyed Appendix 8, Health and Safety.
This solemnly advises: "Do not pile objects so high you cannot see where you are going."
It also gives useful hints on how to personate another voter, tells you what questions a suspected "personator" would be asked by a presiding officer and the correct answers to give to get your hands on a ballot paper.
Armed with this information when the next election comes perhaps we'll vote dozens of times - any volunteers to help?
