Films made by homeless people will be screened as part of the Brighton Festival Fringe.

The screening of First Cut will take place at the Odeon, in King's Road, Brighton, on Sunday, May 20 at 11am. It will also be the launch of the First Base Arts Project Anthology, with work created by users of housing charity BHT's First Base Day Centre in Montpelier Place, Brighton.

The centre's manager Dominique De-Light, who is organising the event, said: "This is the culmination of the first year of the First Base Arts Project. Come along and enjoy the films, listen to readings, watch the awards and feast on nibbles.

It will be a morning of fun and thought-provoking entertainment."

Five films will be screened: Video Diaries, with service users talking about their lives, Day Centre Blues, a diary of a day centre under threat, Good Break, a documentary about a snooker tournament at the day centre, Life Peculiar, a performance of the First Base Drama Group, and Lost for Words, a silent comedy. Admission is £2. Anyone who wants to attend should first email Dominique on actionwoman@onetel.com.
