More than 400 school children were enjoying a day off today because of a faulty light switch.
A spokesman for West St Leonards Primary School near Hastings, East Sussex, said: "There was a problem with one of the switches but no one was hurt.
"Electricians are coming in to check out the whole power system and we have told the pupils to stay home as a precaution."
