Three artists and three very different manifestations of what it is they are seeking to represent in their work.
Huw Bartlett used a performance piece and two abstract installations to convey the idea of art having become a slot in the culture industry, of which we are all cultural anthropologists.
Jon Turner instead explored the concept of abstraction and its relationship to familiarity in his beautifully textured paintings and bright Polaroid photographs.
In a series entitled The New Sublime, Lucianne Whittaker's four imposing canvases stood to strikingly illuminate an aesthetic experience of the pluralist temporality of our climate through her use of overlapping dark, bold and ethereal tones.
Each artist was successful within their own terms and this small exhibition was both enjoyable and effective.
