Having lived in Brighton all my life, I take a great interest in my home town, and the proposed plan for a central park in the Old Steine, putting all the traffic along the east side of the road, alarms me considerably.
It is difficult enough to cross over to the other side of the road to reach the Royal Pavilion at present.
We do not want it to be even worse.
Why should all the families who live to the east have to endure this proposal? Most residents here use the Pavilion Gardens a lot. We also need to be able to get to the banks and post office in Ship Street and Western Road.
We find it difficult getting to London Road, as the bus stop was removed from outside the old art college. We also badly need a crossing at the bottom of Edward Street.
Please bear in mind, Brighton and Hove City Council, that the east side of the road wants beauty as well - and not increased traffic.
