I thought the letter about police parking on double yellow lines (Letters, April 26) was a bit hard on our police. They do a wonderful job in difficult times.

I think they should be appreciated a lot more, as they go beyond their duties many times.

Having breakfast? Maybe they had been on duty late. I think the public should be more caring. Not many people want to be policemen or women. They have a lot to put up with, and do their best to look after us all.
