The Technical Hitch was the title of one of the short films at Final Cut's opening night but also the problem encountered before the programme even began.
Despite this early, potentially damaging setback, the evening proved to be thought provoking and entertaining.
The stand out film of the night was Gone 2 Soon, a deeply moving documentary about the 2007 murder of south London teenager Billy Cox.
The film explores the UK's growing problems with gun crime and the warped perception of the media in areas of the black community.
These were topics that the audience had the chance to learn more about during the question and answer session that followed with director Dewi Bruce-Konuah and producer Ashley Walters.
An impressive range of new talent on display here, with more to come from Final Cut over the coming weeks. See the Fringe programme for details.
