There couldn't be a better venue for these spoof French popstars than an upside down cow and didn't they know it.
The rap, pop and rock parody duo regularly get audiences making farmyard noises for their signature tune the Animal Song so they certainly weren't above milking the bovine theme throughout the show.
We weren't just "dans la maison", we were "dans la purple cow", in the uterus of the animal, to be exact.
We were, apparently, all sperm swimming behind the rectum and a specially adapted rendition of Prince's Purple Rain was sung to celebrate it.
Deliciously daft and perfectly paced, the audience barely had time to pause for breath before the next double-entendre had us doubled over.
The rapid-fire comedy speedily went from slapstick songs about a lusty frogman, who wanted to "bury his anchor in your seabed", to French lessons with the audience and adept imitations of a song learnt from a scratched CD.
The charismatic Edinburgh Festival favourites dealt with plenty of stereotypes about the cross-channel divide and plenty of absurd Franglais accents but they never descended into cliché.
Instead, well-worn subjects were transformed into an original and brilliant night of fun.
