The Greens have taken another ward in Brighton and Hove.
Vicky Wakefield-Jarrett, now the youngest councillor in the city, snatched a seat in the Hanover and Elm Grove ward from longstanding Labour candidate Joyce Edmond-Smith.
Fellow Greens Bill Randall and Georgia Wrighton held on to their seats in the same ward.
Councillor Wakefield-Jarrett, 22, said: "I am looking to serving as a councillor and hope to make a positive impact."
In East Brighton Labour held on to their seats by a comfortable margin, despite fears of a Tory overhaul.
Gill Mitchell, Warren Morgan and Craig Turton were all re-elected.
