Yvonne Sánchez didn't mean to be a jazz singer.
The Polish-Cuban jazz vocalist was originally a percussionist and at one point ditched music altogether.
But after a permanent move to Prague, she became the toast of the jazz scene. Now with a Czech Grammy nomination under her belt she's equally at home in bebop, bossa nova and blues territory. Her repertoire swings from Thelonious Monk to Antonio Carlos Jobim.
